Dr Pakravan’s qualifications including in Musculoskeletal Ultrasonography, and wealth of experience at highest levels of elite sports as well as general musculoskeletal and orthopaedic medicine enables him to offer his patients detailed assessment, appropriate investigations and interventions including ultrasound guided joints and soft tissue injections, and a tailormade personalised management plan to ensure not only optimum pain management but also long term functional benefits. His ethos is to equip his clients with relevant knowledge and skills; and provide them with the same high standards of holistic medical care available to elite athletes.

What to expect in a consultation:

  • Please bring comfortable clothing with you, normally shorts / gym cloth.
  • There will be a full history taking, appropriate detailed physical assessment which in addition to the joint / limb involved will also cover an assessment of potential background contributing factors
  • If appropriate an ultrasound scan assessment or as necessary referral for relevant blood tests and / or further investigations such as Xray or MRI 
  • Where appropriate you may be offered various pain management options, ultrasound guided injections, extracorporeal shockwave therapy, etc.
  • Your management plan as necessary may include referrals to other members of multidisciplinary team such as physiotherapist, osteopath, chiropractor, and podiatrist with regular reviews of progress as appropriate
  • Where necessary, referrals to other specialties may be considered.
